KNOWLEDGE PROJECT FILM SCREENING AND Q&A WITH JACK BUCKSKIN

Join us for a special event with Jack Buckskin, a proud Kaurna, Narrunga, and Wirangu man who has dedicated his life to the revitalization and promotion of Aboriginal culture and language.

Through his work on the Knowledge Project, he continues to promote better conversations and mutual respect through shared understanding. By fostering open dialogue in a non-judgemental environment, he aims to bridge cultural gaps and strengthen community connections.

This event will include the screening of two films that explore the topics of Modern History and Spirituality, which provide valuable insights into the journey and beliefs of the Kaurna people, helping to shape a foundational knowledge that is crucial for meaningful engagement.

Modern History
Discover Kaurna history from pre-colonisation to today, exploring key experiences and milestones that have shaped their living culture.

Spirituality
Explore Kaurna spirituality and customs, uncovering their deep connection to country and the significance of specific ceremonies.

Following the screening, there will be an opportunity to hear from Knowledge Project Creator, Jack Buckskin, and ask questions that allow for curiosity and learning to continue to thrive. Together, we can advance these conversations and move forward as a more united community.

Jack Buckskin
FOUNDER, Kuma Kaaru

Jack Buckskin has become one of the most influential cultural figures in contemporary South Australia — a bridge between ancient Kaurna knowledge and the modern world. His work ensures that Kaurna language and culture are not only remembered, but actively lived, taught, and celebrated.

His impact is generational. Children growing up in Adelaide today hear Kaurna language at school assemblies, football games, concerts, and civic events — something that was unimaginable only a few decades ago. That shift is directly tied to Buckskin’s dedication, teaching, and advocacy.

Jack Buckskin changed what it means to live on Kaurna Country. He made culture visible, language speakable, and identity something to be celebrated — ensuring future generations inherit a stronger, prouder, and more connected Kaurna world.
